Gamelan is a musical ensemble that usually highlight metallophones, xylophones, drums,and gongs. The term gamelan refers to the instruments or tools, which is unified whole that is realized and sounded together.

The word itself come from Gamelan Java language "Gamel" which means hitting or beating, followed by anending that makes it a noun. Gamelan orchestra mostly located on the island of Java, Madura, Bali, and Lombok in Indonesia in various types of ensembles sizesand shapes.

GAMELAN KYAI TALOGO MUNCAR (Kyai Padmowijoyo)
Gamelan Kyai Talogo Muncar is a pelog based gamelan. Gamelan Talogo Muncar made at the time of Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Paku Alam II in 1830. It is used to display gendhing “Uyon – Uyon Muryoraras” which is held in Kadipaten Pakualam every 35 days.

After undergoing renovation at the time of Sampeyan Dalem Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Ario Pakualam VIII, the name Kyai Padmowijoyo was changed to Kyai Talogo Muncar.

This Application consist of eight instruments which are Demung, Saron, Peking, Bonang Penerus, Bonang Barung, Slenthem, Kenong, Kempul Gong.

The Application created by the join research project in 2012 from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro , Semarang, Indonesia and Pakualam , Yogyakarta
